"Carta Blanca a Osvaldo Golijov" festival in Madrid
 
A festival of the works of Osvaldo Golijov, entitled "Carta Blanca a Osvaldo Golijov", will be presented in Madrid from February 24 - March 6, 2011. The festival features performances by the Orquesta Nacionales de España, the Coro Nacionales, and a range of guest artists in both orchestral and chamber settings, conductors Miguel Harth-Bedoya and Leonard Slatkin, as well as films and discussions. Works performed will include Azul (with cellist Alisa Weilerstein), Youth Without Youth, selections from La Pasión Según San Marcos, Yiddishbbuk, Ayre (with soprano Dawn Upshaw and The Andalucian Dogs), and The Dreams and Prayers of Issac the Blind (with clarinetist David Krakauer). Other artists include Michael Ward-Bergemann, Kayhan Kalhor, Jamey Haddad, Cyro Baptista, and Biella da Costa. For more information and a complete schedule, visit the OCNE website.
