La Pasión según San Marcos: A Creative Learning Project at Carnegie Hall, March 10

On March 10, a special performance of La Pasión según San Marcos will take place in the Stern Auditorium of Carnegie Hall, the centerpiece of Osvaldo Golijov's residency as holder of the Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair for 2012-2013. For this performance of Golijov's acclaimed 2000 setting of the St. Mark Passion, hundreds of New York City high school singers will join with members of Schola Cantorum de Venezuela and its director Maria Guinand, as well as soprano Jessica Rivera and vocalist Luciana Souza, in the culminating performance of a month-long creative learning project presented by Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute. Robert Spano conducts.
