Excerpts from Ainadamar to be featured alongside Mozart's Idomeneo and Britten's Albert Herring at Tanglewood
 
On August 2, 2015, the Tanglewood Music Center orchestra will present a concert featuring exceprts from three operas that had their American Premieres at Tanglewood. Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar will be featured along with Mozart's Idomeneo and Britten's Albert Herring. The concert will be at 8pm at Seiji Ozawa Hall in Lenox, MA. Golijov's Ainadamar premiered at the Tanglewood Festival of Contemporary Music in August 2003, and has since been presented by the Santa Fe Opera, New York's Lincoln Center and numerous other orchesetras and opera companies in the United States and around the world. A 2006 recording for Deutsche Grammophon received Grammy awards for both Best Opera Recording and Best Classical Contemporary Composition.
